- Next, you’ll be asked to enter your email address. Users need to make sure that this email address is operant, as they’ll be asked to verify that it’s yours.
- The users will be asked to choose a strong password made of 8 or more than eight characters, has one capital character, one numerical digit, and one unique character to ensure safety.

This process is mandatory and needs to be filled with the user’s original residential address, the city they’re residing in, the city’s postal code, date of birth according to the identification card, and phone number.
- After that, you’ll be asked to confirm your phone number through a confirmation code SMS or phone call. Users need to select their country code, enter the phone number, and then the one-time code they have received before clicking on ‘Continue.’
- Once the code is confirmed, users now have a Skrill account and are fully registered to transfer payments and funds.
After the account registration, you have to verify your account to fully be able to take advantage of every feature Skrill has to offer. Read more about account verification in this article.
Registering for a Second Currency
Once a user has completed the Skrill verification process, they can own an account with two currencies. However, the number of coins a single user can use depends upon the VIP status they hold.
- A user with Silver VIP status can add two currencies to his account.
- A user with the Gold status can make transactions in three currencies
- Skrill Diamond status users can have up to four coins in their accounts.
To add another currency account, simply deposit or send money in your desired currency.
How to register multiple currency accounts (old method)
The process of registering for a second, third, or fourth currency account is relatively easy when the user has verified his account and can be achieved by following the steps listed below.
- Log onto the Skrill official website.
- Click on the ‘Register’ button in the top right corner like you usually would while registering for a new account.
- Fill the form by entering all your personal and account details, and instead of entering the email address you chose for your first account, enter a new one.
- While entering your phone number, users can add the same phone number as before and change one digit, which the Skrill customer care center can later fix.
- In the currency field, opt for the second currency you wish to add to your account.
- Once the users have successfully registered for a new account, they’ll receive an email from the Skrill management; informing them that their account has been frozen.
- The user then needs to draft an email to the Skrill management, requesting them to activate a second currency account.
- The Skrill team will look into the matter. After conducting a proper identification check, they will merge the two accounts, which means the complete transfer of all privileges, including the user’s VIP status, revoked on both versions.
- The process of linking the two accounts takes one day, and once it’s done, users can even apply for a free-of-cost Skrill MasterCard that adds more benefits to the account.
- The users need to meet the transactions limit to maintain their VIP status and the two accounts.
Users can repeat the exact process several times if they want a third or fourth currency added to their account.
Switching Account Currency
In the case where users want to switch their account’s currency instead of adding a new one, they’ll have to close their previous version and sign up for a new account to change their currency through a few steps;
- Log onto the Skrill website and log into your Skrill account.
- Transfer all your existent funds into a reliable friend’s account, and empty your account.
- Go to your account, ‘Account Settings,’ and click on the ‘Close Account’ option at the bottom right corner.
- Start the sign-up process for a new Skrill account.
- Enter all your personal and account details, as entered before and in the place of your email address and phone number; add a new email address and phone number. The site can fix this step later on by contacting the Skrill customer care center.
- While adding the currency, choose the new currency you want to switch to and enjoy your following transactions.
- After filling all the fields, the Skrill support team will now create your new Skrill account with the currency of your choice.
Users need to know that they will have to verify the new account again by following the verification process of adding identification and address details.
Users can then switch their email addresses and phone numbers back to the original ones by going to ‘Account Settings. To ensure that your new Skrill account doesn’t get frozen by the management due to the same email address being entered, users need to contact Skrill management and permanently delete their previous account.
